Christine Rollings

Christine Rollings

Christine offers Birth Story Listening for parents, partners, doulas, midwives, and others who have been part of a birth experience that they would like space to process. She holds a Master of Science in Counseling, is a Professional Member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), and trained in Birth Story Medicine with Pam England.

Birth does not always unfold the way we expect it to. Even an experience that was considered medically successful—or that we expected to feel positively about—can leave behind moments, questions, emotions, or meanings that are difficult to make sense of.

In a Birth Story Listening session, Christine walks alongside you as you return to your story: noticing the moments that still carry weight, exploring the meaning you have made from what happened, and making space for a fuller understanding of your experience. The goal is not to rewrite your birth story, but to help you find a way to more fully own it.

Christine believes that our experiences of birth can become part of the foundation from which we enter parenthood. Processing a birth story can therefore be about much more than one event. It can help untangle the many small moments, expectations, losses, surprises, and strengths that have shaped the parent you are becoming.

Birth Story Listening can be especially meaningful following a difficult or traumatic birth, but an experience does not need to meet a definition of “traumatic” to deserve attention. And there is no expiration date on a birth story. Sessions can take place beginning around six months postpartum or decades after the birth itself.

Sessions are offered virtually throughout Canada and typically last 60–90 minutes. Most people attend a single Birth Story Listening session, with additional sessions available when helpful. Birth Story Listening is a reflective listening practice and is not psychotherapy.

*Christine is currently accepting new clients for virtual sessions (worldwide) and in-person sessions (Calgary).
