We provide neuroaffirming assessments to help neurodivergent adults gain a deeper understanding of their strengths, challenges, and needs. Our approach is designed to offer clarity, validation, and practical next steps — without pathologizing neurodivergence.

We specialize in identifying Autism, PDA (Pathological/Protective Demand Avoidance), ADHD, giftedness/2e in adults who are high-masking, hard-to-spot, “atypically” presenting, and who internalize their traits.

What Sets Our Assessments Apart?

Many practices offer assessments. Here are a few things that are unique to our process:

  • We offer accommodations – If forms or other steps feel overwhelming, we provide alternatives. For example, if executive functioning challenges make it hard to complete forms, we can walk through them with you via phone or video before the in-person session.

  • We don’t rush! We book an extra hour of office time so that the process can feel as chill and comfortable as possible.

  • An ADHD evaluation is included in autism assessments at no extra cost – Because autism and ADHD often overlap, we assess both to give you a clearer, more accurate picture of your needs.

  • Our ADHD assessments are more comprehensive than standard $400 assessments – This is reflected in the pricing when you pursue an ADHD assessment on its own. Thoroughness matters, especially in differential diagnosis. Misdiagnosis can lead to inappropriate supports (like stimulant meds) that may make things worse if the root issue isn’t ADHD.

  • Our assessments are neuroaffirming – as much as possible (see next section for details).

What is a Neuroaffirming Assessment?

A neuroaffirming assessment respects and validates neurodivergence rather than treating it as something to "fix."

Our approach:

  • Identifies your your strengths and challenges

  • Recognizes that differences in learning, attention, and processing are natural variations, not deficits

  • Provides insights and practical approaches that help you thrive at home, in school, at work, and in daily life

  • Identifies root causes of challenges in order to avoid surface-level strategies

  • Offers practical, personalized recommendations that align with your needs and values

We believe an assessment should be empowering, not pathologizing.

Why Pursue an Assessment?

Seeking an assessment can help:

  • Provide a clearer picture of your abilities and challenges

  • Identify what supports may help you thrive at home, school, and work

  • Help with self-understanding and confidence

  • Access accommodations for education or in work settings

  • Clarify overlapping traits (e.g., ADHD vs. giftedness)

Assessment Process

Every assessment starts with a free 15-minute virtual consultation where we discuss your concerns and what you hope to learn from the assessment. It’s also a chance for you to ask any questions and see if this feels like a good fit. You can book this here.

If you decide to move forward, you’ll complete an online questionnaire covering your background, including medical, academic, social, emotional, and behavioral history.

Next, we’ll have a intake session to explore your concerns in depth. We’ll discuss your experiences, challenges, and goals for the assessment. We may ask about your developmental history, learning experiences, physical health, attention and focus, emotional well-being, and any past diagnoses or assessments.

Depending on the assessment, we may also provide additional questionnaires for partners, family members, or colleagues who can offer further insight into your day-to-day experiences.

We’ll then schedule the testing sessions, which vary in length depending on the type of assessment.

For our adult autism evaluations, we may also request a parent or someone who can speak to your developmental history complete an interview.

Once all the information is collected, we will analyze the results and put together a detailed report. While we may need to use language that seems to take a “medical model” view of neurodiversity, our recommendations will be shared through a neuroaffirming and strengths-based lens.

We’ll then meet for a feedback session to go over the findings, answer any questions, and review recommendations to ensure they align with your goals and needs.

After that meeting, we will finalize the report and provide you with a signed copy.

If you experience barriers with any of these steps (we realize that there are a lot!) we have options to accommodate executive functioning and/or communication differences/challenges/preferences.

Psychoeducational Assessments for Adults

You might be considering a psychoeducational assessment if you're experiencing challenges with memory, focus, or attention, struggling with learning, facing emotional well-being concerns (such as depression or anxiety), or looking to identify giftedness.

A psych-ed assessment can help clarify challenges you're facing, whether in learning, focus, emotions, or behavior. It provides a deeper understanding of how your mind works and how to build on your strengths. By identifying specific needs, the assessment can guide you toward effective strategies and support.

A psychoeducational assessment explores your cognitive, academic, social, emotional, and behavioral experience to identify strengths, challenges, and learning needs. It typically includes standardized measures of intelligence (IQ), academic achievement, memory, attention, and executive functioning.

The assessment helps identify conditions such as learning disabilities (e.g., dyslexia, dyscalculia), ADHD, anxiety, mood “disorders”, social skills difficulties, and processing challenges. Information is gathered through standardized tests, observations, questionnairres, and interviews.

The assessment process is typically conducted in two days, based on the following schedule which will be tailored to each client based on need and presenting concerns and goals:

  • Cognitive Assessment

  • Academic Assessment

  • Additional Testing

The results provide a detailed learning profile along with personalized recommendations to guide future accommodations and support.

Investment

  • Gifted - $1,500 - reduced fee if results don't meet gifted criteria

  • ADHD - $1,750 - as mentioned above, our ADHD assessments are more comprehensive than what you’d recieve at your GP or with a nurse practitioner in order to be accurate in our recommendations.

  • Psychoeducational Assessment - $2,750 - includes testing for ADHD, social emotional wellbeing, gifted, specific learning disability (e.g., dyslexia, other LDs)

  • Autism + Psych Ed - $3,500 - includes testing for Autism, ADHD, social emotional wellbeing, PDA*, gifted, specific learning disability (e.g., dyslexia, other LDs).

*While we cannot diagnose PDA, we can include it in the report as a profile with recommendations

*We may offer Autism and ADHD assessments on their own by request (for example, if some of the testing has already been done recently). The reason we do not recommend this is that without a comprehensive approach, the results and recommendations may lack much-needed accuracy for differential diagnoses and accessing support.
